Volunteer as a Planning Consultant!

Many organizations depend on the help of volunteers to deliver their missions. However, effectively engaging volunteers takes capacity that many nonprofits simply do not have. United Way of King County and 501 Commons are working together to help organizations evaluate and improve their volunteer programs through the Volunteer Impact Partnership (VIP) 360 program, but we need skilled volunteers to be able to do it! If you have expertise in human resources, volunteer management and/or organizational planning and facilitation, you can help make a fundamental difference in the way organizations are able to engage volunteers!

VIP 360 Planning Consultants will work in teams of two and lead a local organization through a highly structured planning process by:

  • Facilitating meetings, taking notes and drafting reports

  • Helping the organization identify their priority issues and opportunities for improvement within their volunteer program

  • Helping the organization identify tangible steps that the organization can commit to taking in the proceeding 12-18 months that will help them realize their goals.

Volunteer Planning Consultants can expect to serve about 8-10 hours per month, March through June, during the VIP 360 process. It is a great opportunity to deepen your professional skills, gain access to valuable resources and make professional connections all while playing an integral role in an organization’s ability to more fully achieve their mission.

For more information about serving as a VIP 360 Planning Consultant or to be considered for this position, please visit and start the application process today! To speak with someone directly about this opportunity, please contact

We hope you will consider joining us!
