Power networking and valuable education come together in our SIGs! Seattle SHRM offers the opportunity for you to connect with your HR community through a variety of SIGs. Scroll below for an introduction to each of the Seattle SHRM SIGs to learn more. There's absolutely no commitment other than participating in events and activities that appeal to you and that further enhance your value as an HR Professional. To join a SIG, simply contact the group's leader. Benefits and Compensation

The Benefits & Compensation SIG's roundtable format encourages participants to share experiences and successes. Meetings are held every other month and include a subject matter expert to frame the discussion topic followed by real world examples and issues shared by participants. Attendees range from compensation or benefit specialists to directors of larger organizations. Those simply looking to learn more about the benefits and compensation specialties all the way to seasoned professionals are invited to attend. This group is co-hosted by Nancy Ellington and Celeste Da Vault. The meetings are hosted by Kibble and Prentice. Parking within the building is validated. Coffee and breakfast is provided!

Coaching in Organizations

Networking and valuable education come together in our Special Interest Group!  Developing leadership is Smart Business.  Using case studies, guest speakers, and group discussion our group offers human resource leaders information about creating a coaching initiative, and ideas for developing the components of organizational coaching utilizing both internal and external coaches, including the HR professional’s role as internal coach.  Developing the leadership capability of future and current leadership helps build organizational capacity for adaptive change improves efficiency in times of diminishing resources and develops capabilities for working collaboratively, while fostering a culture that supports intra-organizational relationships. All meetings are pre-approved for 1 HRCI Credit & 1 SHRM PDC.

HR Career Transition

The HR Career Transition SIG's roundtable format encourages participants to network and brainstorm about HR careers in the greater Seattle area. Meetings are held every month and include a brief topic followed by open and informal conversation. Attendees include HR professionals from any discipline, industry, and company size. Those simply looking to learn more about HR opportunities in Seattle and build your network are also invited to attend.


This group is co-hosted by Jeanette Silva and Mikaela Kiner. The meetings are at Galvanize in Pioneer Square. There is limited street parking so walking or public transportation are encouraged. Coffee and a light breakfast will be provided!
