Volunteer Opportunity

Seattle MLK Career + Opportunity Fair

Share your strong career coaching skills and expertise providing interview and networking tips - with patience, enthusiasm, and compassion across diverse socio-economic populations. Multiple shifts may be available.

Contact Roleta Batiste at with any questions, and please spread the word to job seekers.

Bilingual volunteers encouraged and WELCOME!

Volunteers will:

  • Constructively review and critique resumes
  • Assist job seekers with navigating online applications, reviewing paper applications, and basic resume building
  • Set up resume/application work station
  • Be familiar with employers and resources at the fair and connect job seekers to other opportunities
  • Break down and clean up resume/application work station

When you complete your volunteer shift, you are welcome to join the rally, march downtown, and/or grab a late lunch in the cafeteria @2pm. Details on the fair – employers, resources, etc. - are updated regularly at www.seattlemlkcoalition.org

Every year the Seattle MLK Jr. Organizing Coalition organizes a large-scale celebration in the only county named in Dr. King's honor. The annual MLK Seattle activities include morning workshops, a career/opportunity fair, a rally, a march from Garfield High School to downtown rally, free lunch back at Garfield, and a youth-focused event before the holiday.
