The past year has seen some major changes in the human resources arena. From paid sick leave to an overhaul of federal wage and hour law, 2016 brought significant changes to the employment law landscape.  Where do we stand with the changes made by the current administration, and what can we expect for the remainder of the term?  Littler Mendelson employment law attorneys Kellie Tabor and Katie Bosbyshell will help you relive the good, the bad, and the ugly of 2016 and provide practical solutions and guidance for how those legal innovations will impact your HR strategy in 2017 and beyond. Topics will include revisions to the federal rules governing white collar exemptions, EEOC and NLRB developments, evolving joint employer rules, and much much more!


Kellie Tabor is a shareholder with Littler Mendelson’s Seattle office.  Kellie has represented employers exclusively for 10 years.  She focuses her practice on defending employers in employee-initiated lawsuits and representing them in the enforcement of non-compete and other restrictive covenants.  She handles both single plaintiff and multi-plaintiff harassment, discrimination, and retaliation claims, as well as class and collective action wage and hour claims.  Kellie also counsels clients on a variety of employment and human resources issues and works to develop personnel policies and employee handbooks.


Katie Bosbyshell is an associate with Littler’s Seattle office.  Katie represents and advises employers in all aspects of employment-related issues including wage and hour laws, leaves of absence, harassment and discrimination, accommodations, onboarding, and terminations. She provides clients with tools to avoid disputes, such as employee handbooks, policies, agreements and training. Katie also does extensive work in the areas of non-competition law and trade secrets law.  She also has extensive experience litigating labor and employment-related lawsuits. As an attorney, Katie’s primary goal is to help clients prevent and resolve disputes so they can get back to business.

*Students must be enrolled in the equivalent of 6 credit hours (minimum) per term in a degree seeking program including coursework related to Human Resource Management.

Refund Policy: We will gladly issue refunds for event registrations that are canceled before the registration deadline. Because we need to make venue arrangements and order meals in advance, we are unable to refund registration fees after the deadline. No-shows who have registered but not paid in advance will be billed. Substitutions are always welcome. Please request your substitute to inform the registration desk that they are attending in your place.
