Workplace Violence Prevention

Program Summary: Join us as Jim Sawyer, Director of Security Services at Children's hospital and longtime security expert shares his expertise in preventing workplace violence. Attendees will understand the epidemic of violence in the United States and how to look for, be prepared for, and manage workplace violence, and crisis situations. 

 

 

Jim Sawyer has Over 40 plus years working in Security Services at Seattle Children’s Hospital and has a Bachelor degree in Society in Justice. He is a certified instructor in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, member and presenter with Homeland Security, President and Past President with the (WSCPA) WA State Crime Prevention Association along with being a Board member with this association for over 20 years. Jim instructs on going classes for Seattle Children’s staff on Workplace Violence, Personal safety, and began an in-house self-defense course for women team.

*Students must be enrolled in the equivalent of 6 credit hours (minimum) per term in a degree seeking program including coursework related to Human Resource Management.

 

Refund Policy: We will gladly issue refunds for event registrations that are canceled before the registration deadline. Because we need to make venue arrangements and order meals in advance, we are unable to refund registration fees after the deadline. No-shows who have registered but not paid in advance will be billed. Substitutions are always welcome. Please request your substitute to inform the registration desk that they are attending in your place.

 

Seattle SHRM is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.
